Samantha Quek

Sam Quek played a key part in the Women’s GB Hockey Team which famously won Gold at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. The Olympic Final delayed the 10 o’clock News and was watched by an audience close to 10 million people as Team GB won in an incredibly tense penalty shoot-out!

At these Olympic Games, Sam won her 50th camp for Great Britain and now has more than 125 combined camps for both England and GB. Sam was also part of the England team that won Gold at the European Championships in August 2015 in London. Sam was notably Man of the Match vs the Netherlands (who were reigning World & Olympic Champions) in the Final.

Sam recently received an MBE alongside her GB Hockey teammates in the 2016 New Year’s Honours List; and also appeared on the hugely popular ITV show ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’, and finally came 4th on the show.

Sam appears to be a Golden Girl in every way, but success hasn’t come easy. Many people forget that she wasn’t selected for the Olympic Games at both Beijing and London. So Rio represented the end of a very long and tough journey for Sam.
